A Tanzanian gold mining company, part of the Phiros group.
Huudi Mining is the trading name of Huudi Forest Company Limited, registered in the United Republic of Tanzania. We set up the company in 2024 to develop small-scale gold mining in the Lupa Gold Field. Today a Tanzanian-led team runs our Msesule operation.
Our story, 2024 to 2026
Gold was discovered on the Lupa in 1922, and informal mining continues there today. In 2024 we set up Huudi to develop small-scale gold mining in the goldfield, within Tanzania's licensing framework.
In 2025 we started to mechanise Msesule, one step at a time. Today 30-tonne and 5-tonne excavators open a trench along the vein, and the crew strips the wall rock and sorts the ore before processing.
In February 2026 the Tanzania Mining Commission Laboratory in Dar es Salaam assayed samples from the site, and a ground magnetic survey followed in April. In September we commissioned our processing circuit on site, from crushing and milling to cyanide leaching in vats, and processed the first batch. We have sold doré through official channels since then.
Production is now ramping up, with 30 employees at Msesule. Our Operations page describes each step, from the trench to the sale of our doré.
How we work
We rely on independent specialists for technical work and on a third-party laboratory for assays. An independent Competent Person is budgeted for the resource programme.
We use no mercury, and a cyanide management plan has applied since commissioning. Our Responsibility page sets out its controls, along with our work on employment and land.
Our team on the ground
A Tanzanian-led team runs Msesule day to day, with employees recruited mainly in the region. Our Responsibility page covers recruitment, training and social cover.
Pascal Hubert
Co-founder and Operations Director
Pascal Hubert works on site full time and has lived in Tanzania since 2019. He brings 30 years of operational and commercial management in Africa. He oversees operations and works with the independent specialists who carry out our technical work.
Structure and compliance
Huudi Forest Company Limited conducts and finances mining and processing at Msesule and employs the site team.
Huudi holds licensed mining rights over an active gold concession in the Lupa Gold Field, through our local operations team. The company also holds licences for manganese, copper–cobalt and nickel, and a gold dealer's licence that it uses today.
Qualified investors can review our licence and corporate structure under NDA, as part of their due diligence.
Huudi is part of the Phiros group, based in Paris. Phiros SA publishes this website.
